Terms of use

Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.
- Give accurate information, keep your sign-in secure and don't share your account. You are responsible for what happens on it.
- One person, one account. Don't impersonate anyone.
The service
Dared is free. You join challenges with a cohort, check in with proof, and can finish with a verified showcase. Challenges are run by creators, who write the tasks. Tasks are for motivation and learning; use your own judgement and don't do anything unsafe for you. Nothing on Dared is medical, financial or professional advice.
We may change, pause or stop features. If we stop Dared entirely, we will give you notice and a way to download your content.
Community rules
Dared works because people show real progress to each other. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Don't post or send:
- harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech or content that attacks people for who they are;
- sexual content of any kind involving minors, or anything that sexualises or endangers children (see our child safety standards);
- nudity, sexually explicit or pornographic content;
- graphic violence, self-harm encouragement, or dangerous challenges;
- illegal content or activity, including drugs, weapons and fraud;
- spam, scams, fake proof, or someone else's work passed off as yours;
- other people's private information, or photos of people who didn't agree to be posted;
- content that infringes copyright or other rights.
Don't try to break, scrape or overload Dared, get around its limits, or access accounts or data that aren't yours.
Reporting, blocking and moderation
- Report any post, proof, showcase, comment or profile from its menu in the app, or email contact@dared.app.
- Block any user from their profile. You won't see their content and they can't contact you.
- We review reports within 24 hours. Content may be hidden automatically while we review it.
- When content breaks these rules we remove it, and we suspend or permanently ban the account that posted it. Child sexual abuse material is reported to the authorities.
- If we act on your content or account and you think we got it wrong, you can appeal in the app or by email. A person reviews every appeal.
- Creators can also hide posts in the cohorts they host.
Your content
You own what you post. You give Dared a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and share it in order to run the service, for example to show your proof to your cohort and your showcase on share cards you create. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where others have already shared it inside Dared or we must keep it by law.
You confirm you have the rights to what you post, including the agreement of anyone recognisable in it.
Creators
If you run a challenge, you are responsible for its tasks, rubric and notes, and for treating your cohort fairly. You must not collect members' personal data outside Dared for purposes they haven't agreed to. You can't charge for challenges on Dared.
Optional stakes
Some challenges let you put down an optional stake of $5 to $100 to keep yourself honest. A stake is never required to join. If you finish, it comes back to you. If you don't, it goes where you chose when you joined: to a charity or split among the cohort's finishers. Stakes are processed by our payment provider. We tell you the exact rules on the stake screen before you confirm, and those rules form part of these terms.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time (how). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the law, or put others at risk.
Disclaimers and liability
Dared is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we don't guarantee it will always be available or error-free, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for content posted by other users. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
General
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. If you keep using Dared after that, the new terms apply. These terms are governed by the law of the country where Dared.App is established, without affecting the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live. Questions: Dared.App, 1301 Marina Hotel Apartments, Dubai Marina, Dubai, contact@dared.app.
The App Store and Google Play are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for Dared or its content. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms for users who downloaded Dared from the App Store.
